Referring Patients to Research

active-image.jpegThank you for referring your patients to our world-renowned research center.

We have many actively recruiting studies for individuals living primary progressive aphasia (PPA).

Language in Primary Progressive Aphasia Study

This longitudinal research study is one of the first and largest of its kind in the country. This study seeks to investigate the changes in people with PPA over time, using neuropsychological testing, MRI scanning, and PET scanning.

With this information, we hope to:

  • Better understand progression in PPA and its link to brain changes
  • Increase awareness of PPA and better educate patients, families, and clinicians
  • Identify biomarkers that will lead to earlier diagnosis and earlier intervention

Tau PET Imaging in Atypical Dementias Study

This observational study seeks to understand the neuro-anatomical and behavioral changes in people with PPA by correlating changes in tau protein deposits in the brain with clinical, anatomical, and functional changes.

This study will also examine the usefulness of Positron Emission Tomography (PET) imaging with to identify tau protein deposits in the brain. We want to use the data collected to better understand the progression of dementia symptoms.
