Letter from Center Director

Our Center has grown to a size where even insiders have difficulty catching up with developments. The purpose of this newsletter is to keep our Advisory Board, friends, patients, families, colleagues, staff, faculty, and students abreast of newsworthy events at the Center.

During these troubled times, our faculty, staff, fellows and students have displayed exemplary creativity and dedication. We are adhering to all City, University and Hospital guidelines related to COVID-19. Our academic headquarters on Tarry-8 and Neurobehavior Clinic on Arkes-9 are operating at levels that optimize distancing, personal protection, and thorough sanitizing. We are maintaining contact with research participants as we wait for the eventual resumption of on-site research programs. Patient care is proceeding through in-person visits as well as by telehealth modalities.

As we plan for renormalization, research results are being analyzed, scientific reports are being written and published, grants are being submitted and awarded. We are eager to resume our customary activities, but the timing remains uncertain and we are prepared to roll back the process of renormalization if conditions were to deteriorate.

I hope you will find the contents of this newsletter informative and interesting. We would love to have your feedback and suggestions.

Sincerely,

Marsel Mesulam, MD
Director, Mesulam Center for Cognitive Neurology and Alzheimer's Disease
