Primary Progressive Aphasia
& Frontotemporal Dementia
January 2005
Dear Friends and Family,
Northwestern Universitys Cognitive Neurology & Alzheimers
Disease Center (CNADC) cordially invites you to the second session
in the 3-part series entitled Primary Progressive Aphasia
(PPA) and Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD) Caregiver Education and
Support. These sessions are designed for caregivers, friends,
and family members who are interested in learning more about these
syndromes. During each session you will have the opportunity to
meet clinicians and researchers working with these disorders as
well as other families affected by these disorders. You will hear
two educational lectures and participate in support groups lead
by social workers from our center. Though the sessions are designed
to compliment each other, Session Two will be informative to caregivers
even if they did not attend Session One. Hand-outs from the first
session will be available for those who were unable to attend.
Since the content of the talks is designed for caregivers and family
members, this program is not appropriate for persons with FTD/PPA
who require assistance. Please call if you are unsure.
Session One was a great success and due to the overwhelmingly positive
response we have moved Session Two to the larger 3rd floor conference
facility in the Feinberg Pavilion of Northwestern Memorial Hospital
located at 251 E. Huron. To cover the costs of the conference, it
is now necessary for us to charge $20 per person instead of per
family. Your registration fee includes two lectures from experts
in the field of dementia, support groups facilitated by licensed
clinicians, handouts, and lunch. Please contact us if this fee is
prohibitive and we will try to make alternate arrangements on an
individual basis.
Other important information about Session Two:
Date: March 14th 2005
Registration Deadline: March 1st 2005 (please call (312) 503-4591
to register)
Cost: $20 per person
All registration fees will be collected at the session (please make
checks payable to Northwestern University-CNADC)
Reduced-fee parking stickers will be available at the session
The enclosed map and
flyer provide additional information about parking, location,
and specific details of the days events
We look forward to seeing you in March!
Sincerely,
Your friends at the Cognitive Neurology and Alzheimers
Disease Center
