Please join us for the Northwestern University Alzheimer’s Disease Center’s Fall Conference Innovations in Dementia Treatment & Care: (download as PDF) Filling the Early Stage and Early Onset Gap. In past years this event has been called Best Practices Poster Day & Town Hall Meeting. The purpose of this program is to provide education on dementia research, treatment and care, while giving you the opportunity to network with your colleagues and let the public know of your services. Invited guests will be a mixed audience of health care professionals and individuals who participate in memory and aging studies at Northwestern, including persons diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease or related dementia, caregiving families, and healthy older adults. We expect 350 attendees at this year’s conference.
The keynote lecture will feature clinical issues around early onset non-Alzheimer’s dementias, such as frontotemporal dementia (FTD) and primary progressive aphasia (PPA), in addition to providing an update on Alzheimer’s disease research and treatment. The program will also include a panel of diagnosed individuals in the early stages of dementia and their families who will discuss the impact of living with the changes they are experiencing. The Alzheimer’s Association – Greater Illinois Chapter will offer continuing education units (CEU’s) to social workers and licensed home administrators.
New this year is an Exhibit Fair for those health care providers who would like to exhibit services (download as PDF), in addition to sponsorship opportunities (download as PDF). As in the past, a Poster Presentation will highlight select research and outcomes-based innovative practices in dementia care. Those who are conducting research and evaluation on their programs and services are welcome to submit poster abstracts (download as PDF).
