Francis J. Atlas Regional Senior Center
1767 E. 79th Street
Chicago, IL 60617

The CNADC has enjoyed an established partnership with the Francis J. Atlas Regional Senior Center, Chicago Department on Aging. Twice per month, the Memory Disorders Research Team visits the Atlas Center to enroll participants into their Memory Research Registry. The seniors who volunteer to be a part of this program receive free ongoing memory screenings and the latest information on how to keep their memory healthy. In addition, they are compensated for their time.

The CNADC has also provided several educational programs, memory screenings and memory health fairs at the Atlas Center. Former Director, Tom Jones, was the first recipient of the CNADC's Community Leadership Award, due to the Atlas Center's role in this important area of research.

If you are interested in participating in memory research at the Atlas Center and/or volunteering for one of the many studies conducted at the CNADC on brain health and cognitive functions in aging, please call 312-695-2343 or e-mail Stephanie Fields at s-fields@northwestern.edu.

"Participating in Research: A Legacy of Hope"
This video was produced by the CNADC with the help of research and community volunteers and agencies. Many of the common myths about research are addressed with the aim of reassuring seniors, particularly those from minority communities who are under-represented in research studies. Research need not be invasive or threatening. Participation in medical research leaves a legacy of knowledge about some of the diseases that afflict older adults and a gift of hope for future generations.

To order a copy of this video, please see the ADEAR Web site at www.alzheimers.org/catalog/research.html, which features a Real Media and Windows Media preview.
