Human Cognitive Brain Mapping Program

Modern technology based on computerized testing procedures, eye movement recordings and functional brain imaging allow us to visualize the parts of the brain that become activated during mental activity and to determine how these patterns change in brain diseases.

This program, funded by the NIH and private foundations, conducts research in

  • Exploring the neural networks that support cognition
  • Detecting changes in spatial awareness in stroke patients
  • Mapping brain activations related to language, memory, emotion, and attention
  • Facilities include a psychophysics laboratory and, in collaboration with the Department of
  • Radiology, a magnetic resonance functional imaging laboratory.

We are currently accepting applications from qualified graduate and postdoctoral students for this program. Contact Dr. Marsel Mesulam, Director of the CNADC.
